Aims of our Centre
At St Jude’s we believe each child is entitled to high quality child care and we are committed to the overall development of each and every child.
We believe that children are children for such a short period of time. Experience in their formative years should be positive, as it is a tool for learning. Children are unique individuals and are active contributors in the environment.
Our aim is to provide an educational, safe, secure and challenging environment for each child, complementing the home by providing stability, warmth and friendship. Overall interaction and flexibility in the approach contributes to the growth and development of the child, taking into account the varying stages of their development.
We believe children learn through play and experience. We encourage children to participate by involving them in a range of activities the centre provides.
We endeavour to cater to a diversity of cultural backgrounds and provide for children of all abilities.
The educators at St Jude’s have a variety of qualifications, experience and backgrounds. All educators are qualified or are studying for one of the following qualifications ranging from Early Childhood Teachers, Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Certificate III.
From University to TAFE qualifications all staff contribute to the centre’s program, decision making curriculum content and ongoing outcomes and evaluation.
All educators hold current First Aid Certificates.
Our kitchen provides lunch, morning and afternoon tea for the children, based on a menu of fresh fruit and vegetables and the five major food groups. Meals are prepared on site in our state of the art kitchen. All menus are developed in accordance with NSW Health Munch and Move.
Lunch includes a hot meal and special diets are catered for.
Children provide a piece of fruit daily that is shared at lunch and afternoon tea.
At present our centre is NUT FREE.
